County Offices Closed for Labor Day Holiday
Buncombe County government offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Please see below for more detailed information.
Buncombe County Animal Shelter
The Buncombe County Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. Please note the Animal Shelter does not operate the same hours as the Adoption Center – it's closed on Sundays and all recognized Buncombe County holidays.
Buncombe County Board of Elections
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.
Buncombe County Courthouse
Buncombe County courts observe the North Carolina Judicial Branch holiday schedule and will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.
City/County Bureau of Identification
The City/County Bureau of Identification administrative office will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. An appointment is required for all fingerprint services.
Emergency Services
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. EMS and 911 maintain normal operations.
Family Justice Center
The Family Justice Center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7. You can find 24-hour hotline information on our website.
FCC Trash & Recycling Collections
FCC trash and recycling collections will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7. Collections will take place on a one-day collection delay with Monday collections being picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday collections on Wednesday, and so forth.
Government Services Center
The Government Services Center at 35 Woodfin St. which includes Air Quality, Election Services, Environmental Health, Permits & Inspections, and Planning & Development will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Health & Human Services
BCHHS services will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.
Mountain Mobility
Mountain Mobility will only operate City of Asheville Complementary Paratransit Services on Monday, Sept. 7. No other trips will be served.
Parks & Recreation Services
Parks & Recreation administration offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. Buncombe County parks are open regular hours. Erwin Pool will be open Labor Day 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. All other pools are closed for the season.
Public Libraries
Pack Library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7. All other Buncombe County Public Libraries are regularly closed on Mondays. The digital library is always available at buncombenc.gov/library.
Property Assessment/Tax Collections
Administrative offices at 182 College St. will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. Visit your property owner's portal for online services at tax.buncombenc.gov.
Register of Deeds
The Buncombe County Register of Deeds will be closed Monday, Sept. 7. Online services will remain available.
Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office
The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office front desk will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, all other operations will be on a normal schedule.
Solid Waste
The Buncombe County Landfill and Transfer Station will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.
