Life of a Ballot: Follow your 2026 General Election ballot through the process

What’s the status of your vote? Track your ballot each step of the way.

If you’re an active registered voter in Douglas County, you’ll receive your ballot for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election by mail and can track its status each step of the way.

Watch this short “Life of a Ballot” video to see exactly how the Douglas County Office of Clerk and Recorder ensures each ballot is secured, processed, and counted.

Colorado has been conducting mail ballot elections since 2014 and is a national model for election integrity, security, and high voter turnout. Your ballot is secure and monitored throughout the election process by cameras, chain of custody logs, and bipartisan teams of election judges from your community who participate in each step of the process.

Ballots for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election were mailed to all eligible voters beginning on Oct.2, and you can expect your ballot to arrive by Oct. 14. If you have not done so already, visit DouglasCOVotes.gov to sign up to track the status of your ballot with phone, text, or email notifications from BallotTrax.
